Automation and design are integral elements of almost every industry. With the broad training on the two specialties, graduates have opportunities in a wide sector of industries: Computer-Aided Design, Engineering Innovation, Information Technology, and others. The ACE programme puts great emphasis on engineering fundamentals, and thus graduates are also well suited for traditional engineering jobs, and are particularly competitive for positions that require versatile engineering background and capacity for future technology upgrade and development. Our past graduates have found employment not only in design, manufacturing, and electronics industries, but also in software development and management as well.

Students who achieve a high level of academic record may also opt for graduate studies here in Hong Kong or abroad. The Department boasts a team of established researchers capable of supervising high quality research in their areas of expertise. Some of our graduates went on to postgraduate studies in prominent schools abroad such as UCLA and MIT.
